About Us

What makes Stapely Care so special?

Stapely Care offers matchless facilities with extra value for residents, their families, friends and other visitors.

The jewel in the Stapely Care crown is the brand new purpose-built Stapely Cinema 50-seater mini-auditorium, boasting the latest Dolbey sound system. The carefully created ambience, with real vintage refurbished cinema seats and classic film posters, gives audience members the sense of sitting in their own private cinema. This design is also especially configured to accommodate 10 wheelchair users. The cinema’s success has exceeded our expectations in its popularity.

We also have our new Stapely-by-the-Sea home at Benllech on the beautiful Island of Anglesey’s coast, a fabulous way for our residents and their families to relax away from the urban noise and stress. Instead, they can soak up the calming seaside atmosphere, redolent of so many holidays past.

Our Coffee Lounge is an attractive conservatory-style meeting place for residents, family and friends, which also serves light snacks, soups, and a wide variety of tea, coffee and beverages.

The bigger picture: the Stapely Care site spreads over 3.3 acres set in south Liverpool’s glorious leafy suburb of Mossley Hill, adjacent to Sefton Park with its magnificently restored Palm House. The Stapely site includes gardens laid out in the 1920s by the Crawford family, of biscuit company fame. Their family home was the Fernlea mansion, which will house Stapely’s 19 new premium suites (available from spring 2023) and be at the heart of the planned Stapely Retirement village.

A place of history and traditional values

Since its inception, Stapely Care has been the only Jewish care home in Liverpool. It was established in 1948, for the benefit of the Jewish community, the aged and infirm folk.

It has expanded greatly over the last 20 years introducing new nursing wings, complete refurbishment, and the introduction of residential units to the property.

Amongst our special facilities, is our synagogue (Michael Ellenborg). Which has regular services and meetings for the Liverpool community including, services four days a week, and communal services on Sundays.
